PROPRIETATILE FARMACOLOGICE
Derivat de acid pirano-indolacetic. Este un racemat de enantiomeri dextrogir si levogir (D- si S-etodolac). Numai S-etodolacul este biologic activ. Manifesta actiune antiinflamatoare, analgezica si antipiretica. Mecanismul actiunii consta in inhibitia sintezei prostaglandinelor prin blocarea ciclooxigenazei. Nu influenteaza activitatea lipooxigenazei.
INDICATII
Osteoartrita acuta si cronica, tratamentul durerii (inflamatorii, chirurgicale, stomatologice, obstetrice, ortopedice, musculo-scheletice, neoplazice), accesul acut de guta, bursitele, sinovitele, tendinitele, dismenorea, cefaleea.
Utilizare terapeutica: Antireumatica 800-1200 mg/zi divizata in 2-4 prize. Uneori e suficient 200 mg de 2 ori pe zi. Analgezica 400 mg, apoi 200-400 mg la fiecare 6-8 ore.
CONTRAINDICATII
Polipii nazali, reactiile alergice, astmul bronsic, hepatita evolutiva, ulcerul peptic, colita ulcerativa, hipertensiunea arteriala, insuficienta cardiaca congestiva, diabetul zaharat, insuficienta renala sau hepatica, septicemia, hemofilia, lupusul eritematos sistemic.
INTERACTIUNI CU ALTE MEDICAMENTE
Corticotropina si corticosteroizii, alcoolul, sarurile de potasiu cresc riscul ulceratiilor gastrointestinale. Etodolacul creste efectul antitrombotic al anticoagulantelor, fibrinoliticelor si antiagregantelor, efectul hipoglicemiant al insulinelor si antidiabeticelor orale, nefrotoxicitatea cefalosporinelor, ciclosporinei, compusilor aurului, blocantelor canalelor de calciu. Scade efectul antihipertensivelor si diureticelor.

Astmul bronsic. Consumul de alcool (iritatie gastrica si ulceratii). Operatiile chirurgicale (riscul sangerarilor excesive).
