PROPRIETATILE FARMACOLOGICE
Alfa-adrenergic neselectiv cu actiune directa pe mucoasa nazala. Se utilizeaza topic in oto-rinologie in scopul constrictiei vaselor, reducerea proceselor inflamatorii si a exudatiei. Scade sau inlatura congestia si edemul mucoasei nasului si faciliteaza respiratia nazala in rinite. Actiunea incepe in citeva minute si dureaza 1-2 ore (si pina la 8-10 ore). Actiunea este predominant topica, absorbtia minima.
INDICATII
Rinita alergica acuta, sinusita, polinoza: otita medie pentru decongestionarea mucoasei orofaringiene: pregatirea bolnavului pentru procedurile diagnostice in meaturile nazale.
Utilizare terapeutica :
Adulti si copii peste 12 ani cite 2-3 picaturi sau 1-3 puffuri la fiecare 8-10 ore. Copii 2-12 ani cite 2-3 puffuri sau 1-3 picaturi (solutie 0,05%) in fiecare meat nazal la fiecare 8-10 ore. Copiilor sub 2 ani solutia se picura in fiecare meat nazal si nasul se stringe cu degetele de o persoana adulta pentru ca solutia sa patrunda in nas.
CONTRAINDICATII
Bolile cardiace si coronariene, ateroscleroza manifesta, hipertensiunea arteriala, diabetul zaharat, glaucomul cu unghi inchis, hipertiroidismul, rinita atrofica, hipersensibilitatea la preparat.
INTERACTIUNI CU ALTE MEDICAMENTE
Creste efectele adverse ale antidepresivelor triciclice, maprotilinei, IMAO, adrenomimeticelor. Antiadrenergicele si antagonistii calciului scad efectele xilometazolinei.
ATENTIONARI SI PRECAUTII SPECIALE DE UTILIZARE
Tratamentul indelungat (peste 3 zile) poate conduce la edemul mucoasei nazale apoi la atrofia ei. Flaconul trebuie folosit de o singura persoana (riscul transmiterii infectiei). Bolile cardio-vasculare, hipertensiunea arteriala, hipertiroidismul, glaucomul cu unghi deschis. Copiilor sub 2 ani picaturile se admininstreaza numai la recomandarea medicului si de persoane adulte (parinti, medic, asistenta).
